6 Most Instagrammable Places In Yucatan!
Alright this post will be for the Instagram folks (just like myself), who constantly search for the viral spots or even better find a good spot and make it viral with awesome pictures. Sadly this is probably going to be my last post for Mexico for a while. I had so many stuff coming up, so I was quite slow while writing blogs for Mexico.
This is gonna be like a summary of our Mexico trip. Let’s talk shortly about all the colorful, the most instagrammable places in Yucatan. Or I should say let the pictures talk for me.
Chichen Itza Mayan Ruins
As one of the 7 wonders of the world in 2019, Chicen Itza deserved the first place with its title. The ruins are quite a treasure for photographer especially the pyramid. Since it is one of the trendy monuments on Instagram it’s a great year to visit and take your epic picture to boost your feed! Just a little warning, this is gonna be the most expensive picture of the trip!
Las Coloradas (Pink Lake)
A must visit place if you are a travel blogger and if you want to level up your Instagram page. Well if you arrive to the lake early, you might see that the actual color may disappoint you since its not pink but “pinkyish”. But if you know how to edit like a pro that shouldn’t be a problem. For the epic picture I’d say you should go to the very end of the path where the road divides the view into 2 one with blue and other side with pink lake. Locals know how to benefit from Instagrammers, so they might ask you for more money sometimes since they seize that you’ll pay it anyway! Local Guide cost is 50 Pesos! However, if you’re smart enough you can simply avoid from that by getting there early or reaching the lake from other sides. Because local guides say that it’s private property and preventing you to go inside the lake. If you want your picture while you’re swimming in the lake, you should outsmart the locals, and its hard, and not worth it.
One of the best part of our day was the boat tour that we did in Rio Lagartos. Just 10 minutes drive from Las Coloradas, Rio Lagartos offers the best boat tours for bird watching and of course to get closer to these cute flamingos. There are more than 10.000 flamingos living in that area, and be sure that you’ll take epic photos!
Cenotes (All Around Yucatan)
For sure all of these cenotes amazingly instagrammable places in Yucatan. You will have such a fun experience in all these cenotes. There are some of them which are a must for your Instagram page. Sadly I couldn’t make it to one of the most epic ones. Suytun and Ik Kil cenotes are the best ones for your pictures, and I’m quite sad that we couldn’t make it to Suytun, but still we had great pictures. Yax-Kin is also a nice one, which has great view and less crowd compared to others. Compared to Yax-Kin and Ik Kil, Suytun was located a bit far from Tulum, so you can see and read about Suytun from here!
Tulum, Quintana Roo (Beaches & Cafes on Coastal Line)
YES, this is the part where you yell TULUM Baby! There are dreamy beaches on the coastal line. The only problem was TRAFFIC which may steal plenty of your time! But be patient, because once you step in to these beach clubs, you’ll see that Tulum is not missing much compared to Cancun!
My recommendation for the BEST would be AZULIK Beach where you pay 80$ to enter and use that 80$ for the whole day for food & drinks. Don’t worry you can have so many stuff with that 80$. I got 2 Mojitos, 6 Empanadas and 5 Beef Tacos. All was totally yumm! Beach was great and the photos you take there will be epic as you see above. Even inside the Azulik hotel there are so many spots to take instagram pictures which lets you to fake like you’re in a resort in Bali lol. Coco will be my second option for you to try, which offers great backgrounds, mostly white.
Besides beaches there are so many well-designed cafes that you can take tropic Instagram pictures! Try the Matcha Mama, a tropic cafe like a swing bar. You can also try Ziggy’s at night as a swing bar with cool drinks or Jaguar as a fancy restaurant like the ones in LA. Also as small note, don’t forget to find that sign “Follow That Dream”, which is also a great picture spot for many.

Izamal (Yellow Town)
This city is a hidden treasure for photographers! Almost every single building is YELLOW. So you can’t get enough of the yellow backgrounds in Izamal. The main cathedral is a great background which is famous, but for a pro Instagrammer, my tip would be wander around the streets and you’ll see that those pictures will be way better than just taking a picture with a monument.
Unfortunately the only disappointing place for our trip was Merida. We couldn’t find that much interesting stuff to do, so we just acted like regular tourists and went to the parks and found some interesting double-chairs that looked like an interesting idea for IKEA to have. These chairs were pretty nice and also good for the couple or family pictures.
